Smile, Be Happy! Smiley-themed activities, crafts, & foods :)

We have been participating in a Share-a-Smile project put together by Broken Treasures to help raise funds for Operation Smile. By doing a blog-style Smile-A-Thon through the Spontaneous Smiley website, together we have uploaded around 100 spontaneous smiley photos!!! Our collaborative effort raised enough funds for 1 1/2 surgeries....yay! Every little bit helps put a huge smile on a child's face.

My 4 year old son & I went on a smiley face photo hunt and found 22 spontaneous smileys - he loved it! Here is our favorite one, complete with 2 eyes, a nose, a mouth, & even 2 cheeks. I call it the Cheeky Firetruck Smiley.

We plan to continue to upload spontaneous smileys whenever we see them. It's easy to do! If you find a random smiley face, upload your photo here and $1 will be donated to Operation Smile for every photo uploaded!

Living Montessori Now Broken Treasures also went on smiley photo hunts!

Since smiley faces are contagious, we ended up doing a couple of related crafts:

What Makes Me Smile Handprint Craft
by my 4 year old

Paper Plate Smiley Face
includes links to more smile-themed crafts

Raising Figure Skaters has a huge list of smile-themed quotes and she even made quite a few of the quotes as word-art freebies; the one above is my favorite!

Boo Boo Princesses has been taking photos of things that make her smile and documenting them as a fun keepsake!

For a fun snack, we had smiley face cookies!

Check out these happy-looking desserts for more yummy ideas:

colorful smiley face cake
cool smiley cake
simple smiley face oreo cakester pops

I am linking up to these parties!
